Biography
Maryland guitarist Bob Margolis took up the instrument at 14 and immediately immersed himself in everything guitar. During high school, Bob began formal studies with two great teachers-Tom Monaco who developed Bob’s note reading and technique and Chuck Underwood. “Chuck is a wonderful musician-so versatile. He can nail the nuances of jazz, rock, country-any popular style. That was certainly a big influence.”
Margolis attended Towson University-graduating Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Jazz Performance in 1993. “I studied with Sheryl Bailey at Towson-what an amazing player and teacher! I got some great concepts from Sheryl and the other fine players, instructors and professors there.”
Bob provides expert guitar instruction tailored to the student's interests-from the novice to advanced player. “To share my knowledge and experience with music is such an honor and pleasure.”
Margolis has been gigging professionally for over 20 years-performing with some of the best Top 40, jazz, rock and blues bands in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. Bob is also a clinician, studio musician and solo artist with three CD releases of critically acclaimed original music.
